TRANSLUCID SEEDS - 2017
About Indigenous Costa Rican Women of yesteryears & today. (Archeology & Contemporary Art). National Museum of Costa Rica, part of the celebrations for its 130th anniversary.
This exhibit shows the social and cultural work of our first women and to recognize valuable and courageous beings in them. Today, in a complex and overflowing global society, the indigenous female population is much smaller, but the social and cultural challenges for women are monumental to move forward their families, land tenure, education, training, the economy, human rights, violence against girls, health, and the conservation of their environmental resources. This exhibition establishes a bridge between the indigenous women of both past and present to recognize the effort they make to preserve their origins.
